My village 'shantinagarlies in the eastern part of sunsari district .It is far away from the district headquarters. It is on the bank of a small river. It is a small village with about 250 families and about 25oo people. My village occupies the people difierent social groups and castes having their own language and culture. They are mainly Brahmins, Chhetris and Newars. They follow difterent religions as well. In spite of the divergences in caste and the culture, unity in diversity is obviously practised here. My village is rich in natural beauty. The river flowing down through the heart of village and the thick green forest are the invaluable assets for my village. Although it is rich in natural beauty, it is developing in slow pace. There is a higher secondary school near my village and a primary school at the centre, Nearly 70% people are literate.
